My original need gap was the problem of how to reduce heat around the stove area while cooking. In week 2 while defining need hierarchy and exploring needs I realized that the user is seeking to reduce heat to enjoy the cooking process. Also there are some more elements about enjoying the cooking process that can be improved – specific to the design of the stove.
Hence I refined my need gap as "In what way might I improve the stove* to help the user enjoy the cooking process"
Please note that the definition of stove for all descriptions below is the burner + the exhaust. Its really looking at opportunities for the entire cooking station
